Project Overview
Boulder is Qatar’s first indoor climbing gym, located in the iCONIC 2022 building in Doha. Within a compact 320 sq. m space, the project was planned to create a complete bouldering experience with 262 sq. m of climbing surface and a welcoming social environment.
Altline Studio developed the detailed interior design and bouldering wall design for the facility, with a strong focus on maximizing usability without making the space feel crowded. The compact layout required every area to work efficiently, from the climbing terrain and circulation to the reception, seating and support spaces.
The bouldering walls were designed to create varied climbing terrain within a small-scale facility, combining different angles, overhangs and a small arch section to support diverse route setting. The interior concept follows Boulder’s bold and playful brand identity through clean lines, strong colors and carefully integrated custom details that create a recognizable and highly visual climbing environment.
